 The Swan Inn
The Swan Inn, Ulverston is a vibrant Free House pub just off the A590 on the way in to Ulverston, Cumbria.Boasting the widest variety of cask ales in the town, regular live music, friendly atmosphere, and a log fire in the colder months.
Every Tuesday there is a not-too-serious quiz from 8:30 PM
Every Tuesday night Ulverston’s finest minds gather to test their wits against the depths of human understanding. Happily this happens somewhere else, leaving the patrons of the Swan to enjoy a light hearted (but not too easy) trawl through life’s obscurities.
Teams are limited to four members, there is a prize for the winners (it stays in the casks until required) and a draw for the snowball question. There is a picture round, music round, general knowledge round as well as many others. We look forward to seeing you!

When William Cowper wrote “Variety’s the very spice of life, That gives it all its flavour” he probably wasn’t talking about our open mic night. He’s been dead for over 200 years, for a start. But he could have been, had he known about it, because our open mic night is the embodiment of his sentiment.

We are extremely lucky in Ulverston to a have a wealth of talented musicians and artists, and we at the Swan pride ourselves on the fact that they choose to come and entertain us on a Wednesday. Do you write your own songs? Or maybe cover the greats? Perhaps you write your own poetry? Just know a really good joke? Stand up and be heard! The mic is open to all comers…
