What is the Ulverston Tenner?

The Ulverston Tenner is like a voucher that can be used in participating shops in Ulverston.

Issuing points are:  Two by Two,  Cumbria Office Supplies, Natterjacks

They can be purchased for £10 from an issuing point and then used to buy goods or services up to the value of £10.

It is a bit like a gift certificate or a book token, but can only be used in Ulverston.

Let me give you some examples.

Joe Bloggs buys a Tenner from an issuing point.

He could give it as a gift certificate, donate it to a local raffle or use it as a prize for something.

Nancy advertises with Go Ulverston and refers her friend Sheila to us.

We give Nancy a Tenner to say thank you. Nancy can now spend that in any participating shop.

Charlie is a shop keeper and Nancy has just spent her Tenner in his shop. Charlie has the choice of cashing it in with Go Ulverston for £10, or spending it somewhere else to keep it circulating.

This means that it is risk free for shops and businesses to participate. You will notice window stickers in the shops saying “Ulverston Tenner Accepted Here”.
