St. George’s Day, Ulverston 2011

The town is buzzing, lots of vibrant colours and quality stands and stalls.

You could have a little ride on a donkey, or have an ice cream with Rob’s Ices…

Fantastic to see so many of the locals out in costumes and creating a carnival atmosphere.

I didn’t catch the slaying of the dragon, but I did see St. George looking for him!

These guys are all located near the post office with the carnival ride and the carnival candy floss stand.

Next stop for me was the Bijou Boutique stall.  Kerry and Lisa looked great in their St. Georges Day outfits.

Pull a scrabble letter out of the bag for just £1 and you get a prize every time!  I managed to come away with a sweet little ring.

Bijou Boutique created by sisters, Lisa and Kerry, who love all things *bling*. From delicate bangles to “i’m here” statement pieces, Bijou Boutique has something for you! We’ve searched high and low to be able to offer you good quality, fabulous and funky jewellery at prices that will leave you enough at the end of the month to buy a matching outfit, and maybe even shoes!

Loads going on at the square, I caught a bit of Garry’s street theatre and met the dragon himself.  I don’t know why anyone would want to kill him, he seemed alright to me….

Down at the other end of town, Rachel from Two by Two looked stunning, bloomers and everything.  The shop was soooooo busy, her new spring collection is an absolute winner.  By the way, the bloomers are actually for sale as well, of course not ones that Rachel is wearing.

She informs me that social networking is the way forward for a medieval girl like herself.

Do you think she was taking the mess?

Speaking of jesting, Sara was going at it hammer and tongs in the picture framing shop.

Very St. George’s Day.

I think this hat would also work for a  3 headed Santa.

But first prize…

For making the most effort to celebrate in full English style…… drum roll please

Goes to Tom in Working Class Heroes….

Finally, it was great to see the horses who were looking for that poor little dragon.  I suspect he’s been slain by now….
