Furness Tradition Festival
Throughout the streets in Ulverston town centre with music,traditional crafts and dance displays. Various performances and trade stalls are based in the town’s
Coronation Hall. A number of local pubs hold informal sessions during the day
In the evening the Coronation Hall is the venue for the main festival concert and dance. Last year the main dance band was Kerfuffle, concert performances from Last Orders, Mike and Ali Vass, Devil's Interval and The Askew Sisters.

Ulverston Lantern Procession
Come and watch the legendary Ulverston Lantern Procession with us! Hundreds of Lanterns process from 4 points of Ulverston and then meet in the centre and file to Ford Park where we will have a spectacular light display.
We will be posting information about how you can make your own lantern, join in the procession or help to support with the event.

This year, UCAN will be taking a leading role in supporting the community of Ulverston with the lantern finale.

Ulverston Flag Festival
2nd-17th May
Ulverston's Flag Festival is a wonderful fortnight when the town is a sea of colour as the town's people fly their handpainted flags from the buildings.
This festival was initiated by the Welfare State International and continues each year. There are flags for businesses, organisations, and family flags. The town is awash with colour and bunting.

Ulverston Dickensian Festival
28th-29th November 2009
Ulverston's 1850s style 2 day event attracts 1,000s of visitors each year.
Find all of the usual specialist shops, fantastic array of places to eat and enjoy a great atmosphere and plenty to entertain the children. There is a traditional fairground and lots of music.

Ulverston Beer Festival
Coronation Hall

CAMRA present their annual Ulverston Beer Festival. Commemorative glasses are available and entry is free to CAMRA members. Ulverston marks the annual Charter Week celebrations with its celebrated beer festival at Coronation Hall. Around 70 brews from more than 50 breweries are on offer.
The beer order is in the capable hands of Lynda, Paul and Scott, John is sourcing the cider and perry, the caterers and bands are booked and we look forward to welcoming friends old and new.

We hope to have beers from each of Cumbria's 24+ breweries - more are starting up all the time - so come along and find out. In addition there will be many ales from micro breweries around the country, which have been specially sourced for our festival, and you won't have had anywhere else before. Oh, and you might find a few favourites there too. All will be revealed in the free programme, available at the door.
The very first Furness Camra beer festival was instigated by branch stalwart Graham Donning and was held in the Coronation Hall, Ulverston, way back in 1983.

Shetland Pony and Panto Horse Grand National
24th May 2009
Wander down to Ford Park and see the Shetland Ponies interacting with Ulverston's own Panto Horse. Other small native breeds of horses will be featured in the park.
You can also buy or sell at the carboot sale, browse the stalls and take the children to the funfair.
All proceeds to the restoration of Hearts of Oak, the last Morecambe Bay Prawner to be built on Ulverston's Canal

Ulverston Carnival Day

Brightly coloured floats, carnival music and atmosphere, and lots of floats. Street bands, stilts, and great costumes make for a good day out. The annual celebration of the town's market charter is a fortnight of dancing, workshops, various shows, musical displays and much more. The town’s charter was granted on September 11, 1280, by King Edward I.
